In its latest update to local authorities, NAFN has provided an update on NR3S developments.
In its May newsletter, NAFN confirmed that new NR3S developments willenable a Licensing Authority adding a new record to send an alert to the searching authority, ensuring they have "the opportunity to make an informed decision."
It explained that situations arise where, if a revocation has been added the day after searching the register, the searching authority may not be aware of the change.
DPA Automated Request
Whether identifying a refusal, revocation or suspension on the register, licensing authorities are required to request further information, under the Data Protection Act 2018, from the authority that made the original decision. NAFN confirmed that they were developing an automated DPA request, removing the need for users to leave the NR3S to complete the process.
No further details on the progress of this was announced.
