Poppleston Allen reported Walsall Council is considering whether to consult upon the possible implementation of an EMRO.
The Committee report suggests that the Council may consider “whether additional controls can be placed upon licensed premises to close earlier, for example 02:00.”
The report contains a list of all premises within Walsall Town Centre which could be affected by the introduction of an EMRO.
The report states that the Police and the Council’s Community Safety and Enforcement Team have carried out operations to monitor and control crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour within Walsall town centre’s night time economy. The report also sets out other measures available to the Licensing Authority to deal with issues within the area.
It is not clear whether there will be a right of audience at the meeting and we hope to be able to confirm more details shortly.”
