A new Private Members' Bill has been laid, seeking to amend the Licensing Act 2003 so that licensing hours Orders can be made by negative resolution statutory instrument.
This is a Private Members' Bill and was presented to Parliament on Wednesday 6 December 2023 by Mrs Emma Lewell-Buck, Labour MP for South Shields, through the ballot procedure. The next stage for this Bill, Second reading, is scheduled to take place on Friday 19 January 2024.
