Following our previous news item on  23 April 2020, when we reported that the Parliamentary All Party Betting & Gaming Group (APBGG) has launched a review of the Gambling Act 2005, IoL members are asked to inform the IoL response via an online survey.

The review is motivated by the Conservative Party’s 2019 General Election manifesto statement that ‘the Gambling Act is increasingly becoming an analogue law in a digital age. The review will look at the  legislation and consider what future changes may be needed to keep the law relevant to the technical and social changes that have occurred since its conception.

The Institute of Licensing will submit a written response to the APBGG, and is requesting views from members via and online survey, which replicates the questions in the APBGG survey to ensure an accurate reflection of views provided.

The survey covers a range of topics (see below) and we are not expecting members to comment on or complete all the questions - just those which are relevant to their areas of expertise and/or experience.

This survey will close on Monday 25th May to allow the IoL to formulate its response.
