The Gambling Commission has  published a map of actions and an implementation overview that are in place to reduce gambling harms in Great Britain.  

The map of actions outlines the existing workstreams already underway with partners while the implementation overview will help stakeholders navigate the key points. These documents together reflect some of the key developments since the strategy launch and set out more information about emerging work and identify gaps to help further discussion and target action. These actions will be delivered working collaboratively with partners including health bodies, charities, regulators and the gambling industry.

At this stage, the information relating to Scotland, England and Wales is collated together but we expect that we will work with the named organisations to split the map of actions over time. This will help stakeholders in each of these countries to understand actions and gaps, and coordinate activity for prevention and education, and treatment and support more effectively.

Helen Rhodes, programme director at the Gambling Commission said: 

“The map of actions and implementation overview are living documents. We want all stakeholders to review them, consider any gaps or duplications, and contribute further with actions they too will be taking which seek to reduce gambling harms.

“Our challenge now is to coordinate this activity, and we are working with partners to develop the right ways of bringing stakeholders together to ensure that the actions are targeted where they will have the greatest impact to reduce gambling harms.”
