In its correspondence, the DfT said:
“Further to our previous letter to you, the offer to transport bodies of contingency face coverings for passengers at zero cost has been extended in line with the decision to pause Step 4 of the roadmap by four weeks. As such, you can order contingency face coverings for passengers until 19th July 2021.
“The Government continues to hold a strong stock of masks, including disposable masks which can be used as PPE in certain settings but can also be used as face coverings for source control. To support the reopening of the economy and increased use of the transport network we are still able to take advantage of this stock of face coverings.
“Due to the widespread use of face coverings, most people have access to face coverings and surveys suggest that compliance is generally high. However, to continue to support compliance as we get nearer to the end of the roadmap, a contingency supply remains available for transport settings to offer to people who, among other things:
