UK Hospitality reported that England fixtures have delivered an average year-on-year sales boost to hospitality of 21% across Great Britain.
It reported that new sales data collected by CGA’s Trading Index reveals the huge boost for Britain’s pubs and bars, peaking with a 33% increase in sales for England’s final group game vs Slovenia.
Fixtures against Denmark, Serbia and Slovakia delivered a 28%, 12% and 11% sales boost, respectively.
The matches saw increases of at least 40% to drinks sales during each of the England’s matchdays.
Kate Nicholls, Chief Executive of UKHospitality and IoL National Chair, said:
“We’re seeing huge demand from fans to cheer on England from the pub, with venues across the country full for each game so far.
“That’s delivering a massive boost for the nation’s pubs and bars, which are seeing sales increase by a fifth on each England matchday.
“This increase is massive for hospitality and allows us to keep providing a world-class atmosphere for fans on matchday.
“We know the pub is the best place to watch the tournament outside of Germany, and we’re expecting another bumper weekend with the knockout stages continuing and England taking on Switzerland in the quarter final.”
