The Department for Transport postpones annual taxi and PH statistical survey.
In the DfT’s correspondence to licensing authorities, it said: “You will be aware that the survey is usually launched by now. However, since we last emailed you we have received new guidance from MHCLG and the Government Statistical Service that advises us to minimise the data collection burdens on local authorities at this time, and review whether routine data collections should be reduced, postponed or cancelled. As such we have reviewed whether this data collection is essential for the Department’s work at this time, and have concluded that we will be postponing the 2020 survey.
“Our new intention is to run the survey in September. Please note that the survey will reference the position as at 31 March 2020. We have therefore attached a copy of the survey so, if you do have opportunity, you can capture the data now ready for the survey later in the year.
“We will review this position over the summer, and consider whether a further delay or alternative plan is required. In the meantime, please do get in touch if the revised timetable will case any problems.”
