COVID-19 Licensing Issues: CFSG advice for animal related businesses and local authorities Published Date: 20/04/2020

The Canine & Feline Sector Group (CFSG) has produced guidance for pet businesses and local authorities about how they can operate safely and legally during the Covid-19 outbreak.

 

According to the Pet Industry Federation, the CFSG guidance (updated 14 April 2020) has been produced with input from DEFRA but stated that it might be subject to change should Government guidance change in the future. 

 

The guidance stated it “seeks to provide pet businesses with clear advice as to how they can comply with the requirements” set out by the Government and provides a helpful matrix for different animal related businesses:

  • Boarding Establishments
  • Home Boarding
  • Home Dog Day Care
  • Dog Walkers
  • Dog And Cat Breeders
  • Pet Re-homing And Rescue Organisations
  • Pet Shops And Other Breeders
