Technical Officer (Licensing) We are seeking a Licensing Enforcement Officer. Reporting to the Licensing Team Leader, this role will be the lead officer for licensing enforcement. The team is responsible for a variety of licensing functions, including Alcohol and Entertainment, Taxi and Private Hire Licensing, Gambling, Scrap Metal, Sex Entertainment Venues, Street Trading and Pavement Licenses.

We are looking for someone with excellent customer care skills, who can prioritise and organise their own workload, enjoys a challenge, and is confident in challenging situations.
Experience of working in an enforcement role, in activities such as regulatory inspections/audits, investigations, response to complaints or requests for advice, is essential. It will be an advantage for you to have licensing experience and a qualification in licensing, such as the Professional Licensing Practitioners Qualification. However, for suitable candidates training can be provided. You will have or need to develop a good understanding of local authority licensing legislation, interpret legislation and guidance. You will give advice and take appropriate action based on the correct legislation, licence conditions and guidance.
The nature of the post requires a flexible approach and the ability to travel around the local area and occasionally work unsocial hours.
