Job Title: Technical Officer Animal Licensing

Salary: HC6 £24,054 to £27,852 per annum

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small but busy licensing team. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for carrying out inspections and ensuring compliance of all premises subject to the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018, the Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976 and Zoo licensing Act 1981.
Ideally you will hold an Animal Licensing Inspector Level 3 Certificate (or equivalent) granted by a body recognised and regulated by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual), or have qualifications and/or experience in animal welfare management. Previous experience in a regulatory/enforcement role would be advantageous.
If you have an interest in animal welfare regulation, administration and enforcement, enjoy dealing with the public and like getting things done, then this could be the job for you. You will need to be competent in the use of Information Technology systems, have great communication and organisational skills, have excellent attention to detail and be dependable to work with confidential and sensitive information.
Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in person on May 9th 2023 at No 8 St Owen Street, Hereford, subject to successfully completing an IT skills assessment which will take place on the same day.
