About the role;
No two days are the same in this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the officers processing licence applications in a timely manner, and ensuring that applicants are and remain ‘fit and proper’ and that their vehicles are safe.
You will also ensure our policies, processes and procedures remain up to date and fit for purpose, making the case for change (or otherwise) when necessary, whilst identifying how they can positively impact on the council’s wider priorities.
You will also have day to day responsibility for the Licensing Enforcement Officers, whilst working closely with the General Licensing Manager to ensure wider licensing duties are complied with.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express him/herself spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.
