N195 Service Manager - Role Profile
We are looking for an experienced and inspiring manager to lead the Council’s Licensing Team which covers licensing, occupational health and safety enforcement and aspects of Environmental Health as a responsible authority.
The Licensing team deal with a range of different licences and registrations. The team are responsible for the application and enforcement duties for taxi licensing alcohol licensing, gambling licensing, charity collections, scrap metal dealers and caravan sites. The team also cover environmental health functions leading on health and safety enforcement, investigation of statutory and public nuisance from licensed premises, the registration and inspection of skin piercers/tattooists, petroleum and explosives enforcement. The post holder will also be expected to Chair the Event Safety Advisory Group for Plymouth based events and work as a key partner in the Evening and Night-Time Economy Safer Plymouth Community Safety Partnership Group.
The Service Manager will work with the other two service managers to lead the service through ongoing change and additional income generation.
The post holder has a key role in shaping the City through policy development and partnership working across the City to improve the living and working environment for our residents and visitors and thereby reducing health inequalities.
The successful candidate will bring up-to-date knowledge of the legal, technical and policy frameworks which underpin this varied and high-profile agenda and be accustomed to working in a political and partnership context.
