About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a committed and enthusiastic Senior Licensing Officer to lead our Licensing service. The post is within the Environmental Services department and the role includes responsibility for alcohol, entertainment, gambling, taxi and private hire, scrap metal and sex establishments. You will line manage our Licensing Officer and Licensing Administrator fostering a positive and supportive team that thrives at what they do.
The Senior Licensing Officer will ensure licences are processed and granted within the statutory timeframe; investigate and take appropriate enforcement action where necessary. The postholder will also provide advice and assistance to members of the public, elected members and other Council departments, prepare reports, deal with correspondence and present information to professional and lay audiences. Attendance at evening meetings and the flexibility to work out of hours when necessary is required.
About you
You will have at least two years’ experience of delivering licensing (or another regulatory service) working with a high degree of autonomy. You’ll be confident with people with evidence of at least 2 years licensing (or regulatory service) related CPD.
