As the Senior Environmental Health Officer in the Safer Communities Service Licensing team you will take a lead role on the Licensing Service managing a team to deliver enforcement services across all areas including premises, alcohol, gambling and taxi licensing functions.

A major part of the role will be improving our service delivery and customer experience including online functionality and customer self-serve. You will be responsible for reviewing policies and procedures and seeking approval to implement and deliver these through the Licensing Committee and Council. The work will involve working closely with the Technical Support Team and the Licensing Enforcement Officers.

You will work with North Yorkshire local authority colleagues to harmonise policies and procedures in advance and beyond Local Government Reorganisation.

You will have full supervisory responsibility for the Licensing Enforcement Officers.

You must be a qualified Environmental Health Officer, be able to use technology to a high standard, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to use your own initiative, work under pressure.
