We are looking for an experienced and inspiring manager to lead the operational delivery, strategic development, and coordination of the Council’s regulatory services agenda, which includes Licensing, Food Safety, External Health & Safety and being the Client Officer for the externalised Trading Standards Service. The postholder will directly manage the Licensing Team and work with the Principal Officer, who manages the Food and Safety Team.

Reporting to the Divisional Director Community and Customer Services, you will join the team at an exciting time of change and play a prominent role in shaping and implementing flexible, efficient, and high-quality regulatory services in line with the Council’s ‘Fit for Future’ ambitions to meet the needs of the community we serve.  

You’ll bring up-to-date knowledge of the legal, technical and policy frameworks which underpin this varied and high-profile agenda and be accustomed to working in a political and partnership context.

Experienced in leading a team in a dynamic, high-profile environment, you’ll possess excellent organisational skills, a head for complexity and know how to drive performance management to create a supportive, highly skilled and agile working environment to meet current and emerging service’ needs.
