Principal Officer (Licensing & Housing)

The successful candidate will have experience in the day-to-day supervision and mentoring of staff in the service, directing resources where required to provide a seamless service to customers and achieve measurable results to deliver the authorities performance indicators. The role includes monitoring and authorisation of holidays, flexible working, sick leave and any other people management responsibilities. You will be required to support the development of our performance management culture to drive continuous improvement.
As an experienced officer you will be expected to take the lead in developing and maintaining Housing, Licensing, and Pest Control, including safety arrangements; risk assessments; COSHH Assessments and any other corporate documentation required to protect the health and safety of members of the Environmental Health Team as a whole.
You will be required to work out of hours on occasions; therefore, flexibility around working hours is essential, as is a full driving licence and use of a car for work.
