An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our busy Licensing Service in a lead strategic technical role. The work is diverse and challenging and will give you the opportunity to use your professional expertise and skills with a high degree of autonomy.
From building relationships with key partners, elected members and stakeholders to the development of core licensing strategy and policy for the Council, this is a varied and rewarding role, where you’ll see the impact of your work in front of you.
About the role:
As a Principal Licensing Officer, you will work as one of the Council’s principal technical experts on all statutory licensing matters including premises licensing, taxi licensing, animal licensing and gambling, and advise elected members, managers and colleagues on the strategic impact of Government legislation in these areas. You will be a key member of the Licensing Service management team, able to focus your skills and expertise primarily on legal and technical licensing matters.

Our Communities directorate work across the county to deliver a number of the key customer-facing services that our residents, businesses, and visitors rely on every day.
The Licensing Service sits within Neighbourhood Services and is focused on delivering an efficient, effective, and customer focused service. The Service operates Monday to Friday with occasional work required out of hours at evenings and at weekends. Some of the roles can be done remotely but face-to-face office-based work will also be required with travel between main office sites on occasion.
