Here at Welwyn Hatfield Council, we are always looking to improve our services to the community. To do this, we are looking for a Licensing Technical Officer to join our team.
The Role
Working as part of a small specialist team within the Public Health and Protection Service you will be responsible for all aspects of licensing (except HMOs and hackney carriage/private hire).
About You
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your personal skillset while gaining knowledge of council services and activities. You’ll need to be willing to work across a broad area of activity.
You will be responsible for dealing with initial applications, undertaking inspections, investigating complaints, monitoring compliance, preparation of reports and attending Committee meetings and taking enforcement action through the Courts. Experience in a licensing role is required however appropriate training will be given in specialised areas.

We need someone who can communicate effectively with members of the public and business community, write and present reports, attend and give credible evidence before Committee and Court. You will also be expected to undertake necessary inspections and investigations and have a commitment to work outside normal office hours when required.
