LICENSING SUPPORT OFFICER

Salary/Grade: £22,777 to £24,495 /Grade 6

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: District Council Offices, Mill Lane, Wingerworth, Chesterfield, S42 6NG

We have an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our Licensing Team within the Joint Environmental Health Service.

North East Derbyshire District Council is a dynamic and ambitious organisation that takes pride in delivering excellent services to our community whilst driving economic growth and environmental sustainability for the district.

You will be joining a small, friendly and professional team and will have the opportunity to work across all aspects of licensing. Based in Wingerworth on the outskirts of Chesterfield the team has responsibility for the administration and enforcement of a wide variety of licences and permits across North East Derbyshire and Bolsover.

You will have the benefit of agile working and your duties will routinely include processing licence applications, handling licensing enquiries and complaints, processing licence fee payments, assisting with enforcement activity, and providing administrative support to the Licensing Team.

  • Are able to deal with challenging situations with confidence
  • Can actively prioritise workloads
  • Are competent with a range of ICT applications and databases

As an integral part of the wider Joint Environmental Health Service you will also work closely with other colleagues and partner agencies and from time to time will be involved with other aspects of work across the Environmental Health Service. A full driving licence and the ability to travel across the districts is essential.
