We are seeking Licensing Officer to join our General Licensing team that administers licence applications, registrations and permits under a variety of legislation including the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 as well as a range of other consents including Charitable Street Collections, House to House Collections and Sex Establishment licences.
You will need to be able to demonstrate experience and understanding of either the above legislation and of licensing principles or other similar regulatory processes.
You will be responsible for administering licence applications in accordance with the relevant statutory provisions and the Council’s policies and procedures.
Working as part of a team you will assist in the continuity of administrative support to meet the varied service needs of the business, possess previous administrative experience including excellent verbal, written and IT skills and have high regard to the importance of customer satisfaction.
You will be reliable, enthusiastic, with a can-do and professional attitude towards the role and have the ability to manage a busy workload.
You will be proficient in the use of MS office, spreadsheets, mail merge and have good communication skills, particularly on the telephone and by email.
The ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service is essential.
