South Derbyshire District Council is expanding their Licensing Team and seeking to recruit an organised, committed and enthusiastic individual for the position of Licensing Officer. The postholder will form an integral part of a small and committed licensing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and compliance of the wide range of licensing work the licensing team handles including Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013, Animal licensing, and Private Hire licensing.
You will assist businesses, have experience of dealing with a wide range of organisations, process and issue licence applications, attend Committee hearings when appropriate, and make visits to premises to ensure compliance. Licensing experience is preferred but not necessary as full training will be provided.
The post involves occasional night-time, weekend, and Bank Holiday work.
A full driving licence is essential.
