Required 2 x Licensing Enforcement Officers

One late shift per week (8.00pm until 2.00 am) with regular out of hours work in addition.

We are seeking skilled and dedicated Licensing Enforcement Officers to join the Licensing Enforcement team. Successful candidates will be responsible for enforcing a wide range of legislation and providing advice in line with Council policy and government requirements. Duties will cover a full range of subject areas covering almost the whole spectrum of Licenses issued by the City Council.

Applicants will have experience in working with the public, dealing with complaints and enforcing legislation. Experience of using computer packages will be required as well as the ability to drive and holding a current, valid driving license.

The post involves ensuring compliance with the conditions and legislation associated with all types of licences granted by Licensing. These include private hire and hackney carriage, alcohol and entertainment, gambling, sexual entertainment venues, scrap metal, charitable street collection and household collection.  

Principal duties are dealing with complaints, carrying out pre-programmed inspection visits, conducting criminal investigations in accordance with PACE, RIPA, Human Rights Act, including gathering evidence, taking statements, conducting tape recorded interviews and giving evidence at Licensing Committees and Court.
