Do you want to be part of a team who help protect and improve the environment and the quality of life for those in North East Derbyshire and Bolsover?
This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our Licensing Team as a Licensing and Enforcement Officer.
You will be joining a small, friendly and professional team and will have the opportunity to work across all aspects of licensing. As a Licensing and Enforcement Officer you will be responsible for assessing licence applications and investigating a wide variety of issues which affect the health and wellbeing of communities. You will take enforcement action where necessary for public safety or where criminal offences have been committed.
A typical day may include:
Whilst previous licensing and enforcement experience would be beneficial, an interest in licensing and a willingness to undertake additional relevant training will help you fit in to this role and succeed. A large part of the role is the ability to communicate effectively and having good customer care and IT skills. You will need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
As an integral part of the Joint Environmental Health Service you will regularly work with other Environmental Health Professionals such as our Environmental Protection and Enforcement teams. You will also work closely with other departments in the Council and partner agencies such as Derbyshire County Council, Derbyshire Police, the RSPCA, Veterinary Clinics, and neighbouring Local Authorities.
