As a Licensing Enforcement Officer you will be based in the Safer Communities Service at the Civic Centre, Harrogate and there is opportunity for some remote/home working subject to approval.
You will work in the Licensing Enforcement Team who cover a wide range of service areas including; Licensing Act, Gambling Act, animal welfare, caravan sites, scrap metal, taxis, street collections, street trading and numerous other licences. The post also currently includes COVID-19 advice and enforcement.
You will be responsible for routine compliance checks, investigating complaints, formal enforcement action, administration of more complex licence applications and presenting reports at hearings and committees. You should have working knowledge and understanding of the range of licensing regimes and enforcement protocols.
You will be required to work outside normal working hours when investigating or monitoring. The Council operates a flexible working policy.
