Licensing Enforcement and Compliance Officer

About the role…

You will be part of a wider licensing and public protection team responsible for licensing enforcement, compliance and inspections of licensed premises, events and taxis.

In addition, you will help support the Council’s work to prevent, contain, monitor and respond to the impact of Covid19 on our community in relation to events and to ensure event organisers continue to operate in a way which reduces the risks of transmission of Covid19.


To be successful you will need…

  • Knowledge of local government licensing law and procedures 
  • To be flexible in order to attend meetings and other events out of the normal office hours
  • Knowledge of enforcement procedures, law and guidance including RIPA and PACE
  • Basic knowledge of the role of local government and its obligations to its customers.
  • Experience of working with the public
