Ryedale District Council are looking for an Environmental Health Technical Officer to join their small
multi-disciplinary team. The environmental health service is responsible for a wide range of
statutory and regulatory functions. You will be responsible for helping to continuously improve
services, maintaining up to date knowledge, collation of data and preparation of reports.
You will have the ability and drive to provide a customer-focused, responsive, effective and
professional service. You will use your excellent communication skills to build rapport and
confidence with customers. You will use your IT skills to ensure that IT systems for the recording of
relevant information and statistics relating to operational matters are properly maintained. You will
be able to use your innovation and creativity to resolve problems in response to changing priorities
and needs.
The successful candidate will provide technical support to officers within the team and will be
involved in the full range of environmental health and licensing duties including, private water
supplies (risk assessments and sampling), statutory nuisance investigations, and interventions to
ensure compliance with licensing legislation (including animal welfare, premises, taxi and private
hire).
