Do you want to help make Dacorum a more enjoyable and safe place for residents and visitors to enjoy? We ensure that people can enjoy their leisure time, including their journeys to and from venues, and the activities that are on offer when they get to their destination. We also support a wide variety of businesses to operate. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our busy Licensing team, based at The Forum in Hemel Hempstead. Working across a range of diverse licensing areas, including alcohol, entertainment, taxis, gambling, charity collections, animal-related businesses, scrap metal dealers and skin piercing, the post-holder will be responsible for processing applications for licences and permits in accordance with statutory procedures, ensuring that licensees comply with legal requirements and standards, and providing technical information and advice to applicants, licensed businesses, and other persons affected by licensable activities.

We are looking for someone who is able to communicate effectively with a wide range of different audiences, and confident in using information technology throughout their work. Existing knowledge of local government licensing law would be an advantage, but is not essential. This role will suit an adaptable, flexible individual who is committed to ensuring a high quality work standard, and continually seeks to improve performance. This is a part time role, the hours are flexible and can be tailored within the working week to suit the right candidate. A Disclosure & Barring Service check will be carried out for the successful candidate to ensure that they have no relevant convictions.
