2 x Temporary Licensing Technical Compliance Officers - (18 month contracts - with possibility of positions eventually becoming permanent).
We are looking for two motivated, conscientious and enthusiastic team players to join our Licensing Team (based at the Council Offices in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, but with the role being a hybrid one, you will also be able to work from home) for an 18 month period (with possibility of positions eventually becoming permanent). The functions we cover relate to: Taxi Licensing, Street Trading Consents, Scrap Metal Dealers, Body Treatments and Body Modifications, Charitable Collections, Temporary Pavement Licences, Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, and Animal Activity Licensing.
We are a modern, forward-thinking, and innovative Licensing Team, and we firmly believe that by supporting you through training and you being part of a Team that wants you and each other to succeed, that you will want to build a career in Licensing with us.
Your role will be to provide licensing related advice by way of email, telephone and face-to-face meetings with the general public, licence holders and a wide range of stakeholders; and to review and process applications and issue licences. You will also handle complaints about licence holders, carry out vetting checks of applicants and existing licence holders, and assist your colleagues in the Licensing Team with the general day-to-day activities of the Service. Our busiest service is the Taxi Licensing Service.
Working within the Licensing Team means that you will need to be able to multi-task, be able to think on your feet, be able to quickly identify possible concerns found within applications and background checks, and find solutions to address those concerns.
So if you have experience of working within an administrative/customer focused role in a fast-paced environment having to meet with tight deadlines whilst maintaining a keen eye for detail, are able to work in an organised, calm and focused manner despite facing ever-changing workloads and priorities, and have an inquisitive open-mind, then this could be the perfect role for you. Knowledge of licensing legislation or experience of working in a regulatory role will be an advantage.
For an informal discussion, please contact Julian Alison, Licensing Manager on 07989 531419.
